Ethics Committee - Caritas Hospital constituted in the year 2001.

• The concept of Caritas Ethics Committee was formulated by Dr. Johny Joseph, HOD, Caritas Heart Institute
• Founder Chairman of Ethics Committee - Prof. Dr. Madhavankutty, Retired Principal, MCH, Kottayam and Former DME, Kerala
• Founder Member Secretary of Ethics Committee - Prof. Dr. George Jacob, Retired Professor of Cardiology, MCH, Kottayam

Ethics committee reviews the proposals for clinical trials, research studies etc. which are planned in Caritas hospital, and approves only those researches which do not harm patient and institutional safety.

NABH Accreditation is an incentive to improve quality as well as capacity of registered Ethics Committee to confirm an ethical research on new drugs. Caritas Hospital is 2^nd in the state & 1^st in the Central Kerala to obtain this prestigious recognition. Efforts of hospital management, past and present ethics committee members, doctors who conduct clinical trial, research department and quality department played a major role in the preparation and achievement of this Accreditation.
