Under the leadership of Caritas Hospital and the Kottayam Archdiocese Health Commission, and in association with Puthuvely St. Joseph’s Parish and the KCC, KCWA, and KCYL organizations, a health awareness seminar titled ‘Karuthal Kooduthal Karuthode’, aimed at “Palliative Care Strengthening,” was successfully conducted on September 4 at St. Joseph’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Puthuvely.
The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Mathew Kannalayil, Director of Pastoral Care, Caritas Hospital. Fr. Jacob Thadathil, Vicar of St. Joseph’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Puthuvely, was also present at the function.
The programme, led by Dr. Jose Jom Thomas, provided awareness on various topics, including the importance of palliative care, the care required by patients and their families, awareness about cancer, cancer prevention measures, and health care, thereby promoting greater awareness about healthcare within the community.
Through such initiatives, Caritas Hospital aims to further strengthen palliative care systems and extend better healthcare to those who require care and support, while carrying the message of care to the community with greater strength.
