The Caritas Heart Institute successfully organized a day-long international colloquium on Inherited Arrhythmias and Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (ACM) on March 26, 2026, at Kumarakom. Dr. P. R Bhima Shankar the lead Electrophysiologist was instrumental in organizing the event which was also endorsed by the Kerala Heart Rhythm Society (KHRS). The program focused on integrating advanced genetics and molecular diagnostics into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes in complex cardiac syndromes.

The conference had international faculty deliberating and sharing their insights on this niche area. Prof. Dr. Arthur A. Wilde from the Netherlands and Prof. Chris Semsarian from Australia led the sessions. They were joined by Prof. Elena Arbelo (Spain), Prof. Bernard Belhassen (Israel), and Dr. Christian Van Der Werf (Netherlands), who contributed their expertise to the day's discussions.

The scientific agenda covered important topics including genetic testing strategies, Long QT Syndrome, Brugada Syndrome, and Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD).
