Caritas Makes History in Robotic Surgery: Successfully Completes 111 Robotic Surgeries in 100 Days

Kottayam: Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences has successfully completed 111 robotic surgeries in just 100 days using the advanced da Vinci Surgical System. With this achievement, Caritas has also earned the distinction of being the first hospital in Central Travancore to accomplish this milestone within such a short period. A celebration and awareness programme marking this remarkable achievement was held at the Caritas Diamond Jubilee Hall.

Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director and Chief Executive Officer of Caritas Hospital, presided over the function. Dr. Prasanth G. L., Senior Consultant in Gynecology & Robotic Surgery, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Binto Mathew, Senior Consultant in General Surgery and Programme Lead for Robotic Surgery, spoke about the hospital’s rapid growth and key milestones in the field of robotic surgery.

Medical Director Dr. Bobbie N. Abraham, Dr. Rajesh M. Ramankutty, Chief of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery and Robotic Surgeon, and Dr. Jojo V. Joseph, Senior Consultant in Surgical Oncology, conveyed their greetings at the event. An awareness video highlighting the precision of robotic surgery and its benefits to patients was also screened as part of the programme. Patients who had undergone robotic surgery at Caritas were also present at the event.

Robotic Manager Mithun Babu proposed the vote of thanks. Heads of various departments, doctors, and staff members of the hospital attended the programme.
