Caritas Hospital, Kottayam, has launched Caritas – The Complete Robotic Surgery Centre, marking a major milestone in advanced healthcare for Central Kerala. The centre was dedicated to the public by renowned magician Shri. Gopinath Muthukad. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by H.E Mar Joseph Pandarasseril, Auxiliary Bishop of Kottayam and Chairman of the Caritas Hospital Trust, in the presence of Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath (Director & CEO), Dr. Bobbie N. Abraham (Medical Director), and Dr. Binto Mathew (Lead – Robotic Surgery).

While robotic-assisted procedures were previously available only in the Orthopaedics Department through the Stryker Mako Robotic System, the newly launched centre expands this cutting-edge technology to multiple specialties, including General Surgery, Gastro Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Oncosurgery, and Cardiac Surgery.

Powered by the state-of-the-art Da Vinci Xi Robotic System, the centre enables surgeons to perform even the most complex procedures with exceptional precision. The technology offers smaller incisions, reduced pain and blood loss, faster recovery, and quicker return to normal life for patients.
