Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences, Kottayam, in association with the Kottayam Respiratory Society (KRS) and the Indian Chest Society (ICS) – Kerala Chapter, successfully hosted the 5th Annual Conference of the Indian Chest Society – Kerala Chapter, "ALVEOLUS – The Lung Summit 2026." The conference was held on August 2 at the Diamond Jubilee Conference Hall of Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences.

The conference was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Joys Nandikkunnel, Joint Director – Operations, Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences. Dr. Madhu K, President of the Indian Chest Society – Kerala Chapter, presided over the function. Dr. P. Sukumaran delivered the patron's address. Dr. Elizabeth Donna Thomas, Dr. Ravindran C., and Dr. Deepu M. also addressed the gathering. The conference was led by Dr. Jacob George Pulinilkunnathil, Organising Chairperson, who spearheaded the successful coordination of the event.

The summit served as a valuable platform for pulmonologists and healthcare professionals to discuss the latest advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of respiratory diseases. It also showcased recent scientific developments, research findings, and best clinical practices, fostering knowledge exchange and academic collaboration among experts in the field.
