As part of its efforts to make healthcare services more accessible to the public, Caritas Hospital inaugurated a Mobile Cardiology Unit, Bike Ambulance 2.0, and Mobile Blood Donation Unit. The ceremony was attended by H.G. Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, Metropolitan Archbishop of Kottayam and Patron of Caritas Hospital Trust; Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director & CEO, Caritas Hospital; Hon’ble Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly Shri Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan; Ettumanoor MLA Shri Nattakom Suresh; former Minister Shri V.N. Vasavan; and South Indian Bank DGM & Regional Head Smt. Rani Zacharias.
The event also celebrated the successful completion of more than 3,000 mammogram screenings through the Caritas Mobile Mammogram Unit. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a new initiative named ‘Pratheeksha’ was also launched. Through this initiative, 30 patients will be provided breast cancer surgery at a highly subsidised cost.
During the ceremony, those who have extended their support to various initiatives of Caritas Hospital were honoured with a Token of Appreciation. George Jacob Puraykkal (Honda), OJES Automobiles Managing Director Shri Biju Markose, South Indian Bank Kottayam DGM & Regional Head Smt. Rani Zacharias, and South Indian Bank Kottayam Cluster Head Shri Pramod M. were felicitated on the occasion.
Joint Directors, doctors from the departments of Cardiology, Oncology and Emergency Medicine, Blood Bank staff, and other hospital staff were also present at the ceremony.
The new mobile units will help extend health screenings, emergency services, and blood donation activities to a larger section of the community. Through these initiatives, Caritas Hospital aims to make essential healthcare services more accessible, including to people in rural and underserved areas.
