World Heart Day Celebrations Held at Caritas Heart Institute with a Focus on Heart Health Awareness
Caritas Heart Institute celebrated World Heart Day on a grand scale, highlighting the importance of protecting heart health and spreading awareness in the community. As part of the celebrations, a cake-cutting ceremony was held, along with a special fitness challenge titled ‘Never Give Up’ for the public and hospital staff to promote a healthy lifestyle. The gathering served as a platform to convey the message that regular exercise and healthy daily habits are essential for maintaining a healthy heart.
The unique programme was organized at the Cardiology OP of Caritas Hospital. To promote physical fitness, the challenge included a push-up challenge for men and a hanging challenge for women. With enthusiastic participation, the winners who secured the first three positions were awarded cash prizes of ₹3,000, ₹2,000 and ₹1,000 respectively.
The campaign highlighted the importance of exercise in daily life for disease prevention and better health. The programme also emphasized the need to maintain physical fitness from a young age to help prevent lifestyle-related diseases affecting the heart.
Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director & CEO of Caritas Hospital; Rev. Fr. John Poochakkattil, Joint Director - Administration; Rev. Fr. Joice Nandikunnel, Joint Director (Operations); Rev. Fr. Saiju Puthenparambil, Assistant Director (Media & Relations); and Dr. Johny Joseph, Head of the Department of Cardiology and Senior Consultant, led the programmes. Doctors from the Cardiology Department, hospital staff and members of the public participated in the event.
