U Sukumaran specializes in Paediatric Pulmonology and Behavioral Medicine. He has special interests in Childhood Bronchial Asthma. Dr. Sukumaran actively involved in research. He published and presented more than 50 research papers on National and International research forums and conferences. He is the author of many Paediatric journals and made significant contributions to his specialty. Govt. of Kerala honored him with “Best Doctor Award” in 2002 for his meritorious service to the Kerala’s Paediatric Healthcare. Dr. T.U Sukumaran is currently working as Senior Consultant, in Department of Paediatrics, at Caritas Hospital.

Dr. T. U Sukumaran is one of the senior most paediatricians in Central Travancore with more than 4 decades of teaching experiences in various Medical Colleges in Kerala as tutor and professor Dr. Sukumaran designated many administrative positions and was the superintendent of ICH, Kottayam and PIMS Thiruvalla As an academician he served as an examiner for many years at various Medical Colleges across the country He worked as principal investigator for many International and National study groups and presented many advantageous clinical studies
