Caritas College of Pharmacy situates within the premise of Caritas Hospita, establish in 23rd March 1987 under the eminent guidance and vision of His excellency Mar Kuriakose Kunnussery , the Bishop of Kottayam. The qualifying examination is conducted by the Chairman Board of D. Pharm examination, DME Medical College Trivandrum. The Chairman of DME, Government of Karla, issues the Diploma in Pharmacy Certificates on the basic of which registration is being provided by the Kerala State Pharmacy Council.

The college is isolated from the din and dust of the town, the college atmosphere is calm serine and situated for intellectual pursuit. The College has provided necessary infrastructure as mentioned in pharmacy Council of India regulation. A well-finished Computer lab to provide Computer education to all D.pharm part II students have started on  1998.This is the only institution, which provide Computer education to the Diploma Students. In addition we also provide preliminary Hospital training in our own hospital during this Academic year.

Already 26 Batches of students are passed out and now two batches are ongoing. Most of the students are practice in the profession and Government as well as privet sector. Many are settled abroad and practice the profession of Pharmacy. We have also formed the Alumni association with ten-office bearer and also a placement cell, which takes the responsibility of the placements of our students.

Admission to D-pharm

1.Eligibility

  • A pass in pre degree (First or Second group)
  • H.S.C (10+2) Science group.
  • VHSE (A or B group)
  • An equivalent examination approved by Pharmacy Council of India.

2.Age
The candidate should have completed 17 Years of  age at time of  application and the upper age limit will be 35 Years.

3.No. of Seats
Total number of seats for the course D.pharm part I each academic year is 60. 50% seat will be management seat. Since this is a charitable institution we do not take any donation from any students, and have not authorized any person or agent to filled the seats.

4.List of enclosures to be forwarded along with application form

    1. Attested copy of mark list of the qualifying examinations.
    2. Attested copy of course and conduct certificate from the head of the institution last attended.
    3. Attested copy of SSLC certificate to prove the date of birth.

5.Duration of course
The duration of the course shall be for two academic year with each academic year spread over a period of not less than 180 working days in addition to 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months.

6.Course of study
The course of study for Diploma in Pharmacy part I and Diploma in pharmacy part II shall the object as given below.

First year (part I)

    1. Pharmaceutics-I     (Theory & Practical)
    2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry I   (Theory & Practical)
    3. Pharmacognosy     (Theory & Practical)
    4. Biochemistry & Clinical Pathology  (Theory & Practical)
    5. Human anatomy & Physiology   (Theory & Practical)
    6. Health education and Community pharmacy (Theory only)

Second Year (Part II)

    1. Pharmaceutics-II     (Theory & Practical)
    2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry II   (Theory & Practical)
    3. Pharmacognosy and Toxicology   (Theory & Practical)
    4. Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence    (Theory only)
